Catherine Willan

Catherine is a Lecturer in the Institute for Sustainable Resources at University College London (UCL).

She delivers business and sustainability teaching and supervision to postgraduate programmes at UCL, and is Deputy Programme Lead for the MSc in Economics and Policy of Energy and the Environment.

She obtained her Ph.D. from UCL, and now undertakes academic research, and consultancy for private and public sector, both of which have focussed around integrating climate and sustainability strategies into businesses, with a particular interest in organisational stakeholders and behaviours, and the built environment.

Prior to joining UCL, Catherine worked in strategy and business planning at the Carbon Trust in London. Here she was involved in a range of activities in corporate strategy, business advisory, product development, and climate policy.

This included the launch of the world’s first “carbon label” for products, and the establishment of an innovative £50m fund for energy efficiency loans for SMEs. She has also worked at EOI Business School in Madrid teaching postgraduate students on corporate social responsibility and sustainable development.
