Douglas is a Reader in Fashion Technologies at Manchester Metropolitan University. As a teacher he mentors speculative projects proposing new fashion futures and leads a Masters degree unit on sustainable garment production. He has also designed and led pan-European collaborative projects exploring the creation of more sustainable wearable-tech. His research explores the role of the senses (particularly touch) in garment design and making processes, considering how this can inform interaction with new digital fashion tools and interfaces.
